The 1760 Bench by Saint-Alman
18th-century iconography offers few examples of outdoor furniture.
Fortunately, we have preserved some beautiful examples of benches that once adorned the estates of the Greats of France.
The model we selected was located in the park of the Duke of Penthièvre in 1760.
Lengths:
- 1 toise (approximately 195 cm / 6.4 ft)
- 5 pieds (approximately 160 cm / 5.3 ft)
We can also study any custom dimensions you may require.
Choosing the Right Wood
It was essential to select a wood highly resistant to weather yet light enough to move easily: for lawn mowing, pathway maintenance, winter storage, etc.
We chose a remarkable species:
White Cedar, renowned for its humidity resistance.
Mindful of protecting the world’s forest heritage, we only purchase wood from sustainable sources.

The 13 Famous "Vauban Colors"
The 13 famous "Vauban Colors" are a palette of vibrant hues used to paint fortifications constructed by Vauban in the 17th century. It includes yellow, ochre, red, Prussian blue, green, black, brown, and grey.
The paint, applied by brush, consists of three layers of micro-porous paint that does not trap moisture and allows the wood to breathe.
All RAL colors are available without additional cost.
